Professor Fidelis Suorineni (Ph.D.) is an accomplished and innovative educator, academic and advisor in geomechanics and mining systems. He has consulted with many major and international companies and serves as Advisor to major international companies. He has degrees from Ghana, Britain and Canada with extensive teaching research and consulting services in Africa, The Americas and Asia.
Prof. Suorineni is an internationally recognized expert in open-stope design and block-caving mining systems. He was awarded the 2012 and 2015 Douglas Hay medals from the IOM3 (Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining Journal, London) for his publications on “Mining of orebodies under shear loading Parts 1 and II” in 2011 and 2014, respectively. Professor Suorineni is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (FIMMM) and serves on the editorial boards of several International Journals as well as a Reviewer for these journals.
